index terms (“subject headings”) that describe the subject of
each book.

The primary database for finding articles
and other materials about school music and music instruction is
ERIC --articles in education periodicals as well as
teaching ideas, classroom exercises and much more.

for teaching, membership and conference information, Musician
Wellness Bibliography, and other materials for music educators.
National Association for Music Education (MENC)—extensive
resources for music teachers and students; information for
future teachers, parents and the public; includes a “make your
case” section of resources to justify school music programs.
Music Education Online--from the Children’s Music Workshop;
instructional and advocacy materials, scores and music books for
downloading, and many other resources to support music
instruction in the schools.
American Music Conference—advocacy and outreach for music
education; many resources for teachers and students.
Educational CyberPlayground – lots of fun activities for
children
PlayMusic.org—a lively interactive site for children,
suitable for classroom use.
Music Curriculum Links – guide to music education lessons
and classroom activities on the web.
Music education web directory—from the library at Indiana
University School of Music, an extensive directory of music

GoodEar.com—fun interactive self-paced activities for ear
training, from beginner level to advanced.
