Academic Search Complete A multi-disciplinary database
covering just about any subject. About a 1/3 are full text
articles. Includes articles on linguistics
Article First Another multi-disciplinary database. The strength of this
database is that it allows you to specify those print journals located in
Blackwell Library. You must use the advanced search option to do this. Not a
full text database, but there are links to some full text articles. Includes
some articles on linguistics. Most foreign language
articles will need to be ordered through interlibrary loan
(ILLIAD) .
CIAO - Columbia International Affairs Online Mostly
full-text database which publishes a wide range of scholarship
including working papers from research institutes, occasional
paper series from NGOS, policy briefs, case studies, conference
proceedings & papers, course packs,
book chapters & journal articles.
Clase/Periodica Index of Latin American journals in the sciences &
humanities ... most
articles need to be ordered through interlibrary loan
(ILLIAD) .
Communication & Mass Media Complete (Full text and abstracts for numerous
journals in communication, mass media, and other closely-related fields.)
ERIC (EBSCO: Educational Resource Information Center) Web version at

A comprehensive education database - includes articles on second language study.

from the list of EBSCO databases
J-STOR Collections for Arts & Sciences I, II, III, mostly full
text ... some articles are in foreign languages.
Lexis-Nexis Academic Research in the social sciences using primary sources,
news, government information, statistics, business, and legal sources - many
articles are short and the articles are not in PDF format, but the database is
generally full text and international in scope making it potentially useful to
students studying another language or culture.

PsycINFO (EBSCO)

- PsycINFO is one of the most
comprehensive databases in psychology and
related fields, with more than 1.7 million citations and abstracts
of journal articles, book chapters and books, technical reports, and
dissertations. Its holdings include material from 1,700 periodicals
in over 30 languages.
While there are links to some full text articles
through the FIND IT function, many articles may need to be ordered
from our interlibrary loan service
(ILLIAD).

Citations database on science, technology, social
sciences and arts & humanities.
Indexes several thousand articles on Language and Linguistics w/some
links to full text. What makes this database unique is that it
often links to (or at least cites) articles that are in the original
article bibliography. It also points to recent articles that cite
the original article. This creates a WEB of articles relating
to the same topic and provides a good way to find other experts is a
particular field of study.
