Most widely-known business periodical database indexing over 1600
business media titles most of which are full-text. Coverage is from 1971
to the present; varies by title.
Berkeley Electronic Press
Full-text peer-reviewed electronic journals in the areas of
macroeconomics, theoretical economics, law, legal scholarship, political
science, engineering and biological science. Coverage is from 2000
to the present.
Buckmaster Annual
Stockholder Reports
On campus access only. The database provides SEC
10-K reports, annual reports, and current stock quotes, stock charts &
news for Fortune 500 companies.
Business and Industry (Gale)
Access provided in the Blackwell Library via FirstSearch. Please
ask the reference librarian for assistance. Provides important facts,
figures, and key events for international public and private companies,
industries, products, and markets for manufacturing & service
industries. Indexes over 1,360 sources from leading trade
magazines, newsletters, and the general press to international business
dailies. Please search ABI Inform, Business Source Premiere,
& Lexis-Nexis first as much of the information will be duplicated.
Business and Management Practices (Gale)
Access provided in the Blackwell Library via FirstSearch. Please
ask the reference librarian for assistance. Provides online articles
about the practical aspects of business management from over 795
sources. Provides real-world know-how that focuses on how
organizations make and implement decisions, develop and launch new
strategies, and plan for change. Includes case studies &
how-to articles. Please search ABI Inform, Business Source
Premiere, & Lexis-Nexis first as much of the information will be
duplicated.
Business Organizations, Agencies &
Publications Directory (Gale)
Access provided in the Blackwell Library via FirstSearch. Please
ask the reference librarian for assistance. Provides current
directory listings for over 40,000 organizations that serve business &
industry. Includes abstracts in most records describing the
organization's products and services and giving other information about
the organization, such as founding date, membership size, and
publications. Please check the printed title 'Encyclopedia
of Associations' first.
Business Source Premier (Ebsco)
Full text for over 3,000 scholarly journals and business media covering
management, economics, finance, accounting, international business, etc.
Coverage is from 1965 to the present; coverage varies by title.
Columbia International Affairs Online (Columbia University
Press)
Full-text & abstracts covering a wide range of scholarship including
working papers from research institutes, occasional paper series from
NGOS, policy briefs, cases studies, conference proceedings & papers,
course packs, book chapters, and journal articles. Coverage is
from 1991 to the present.
Consumers Index (The Pierian Press, Inc.)
Access provided in the Blackwell Library via FirstSearch. Please
ask the reference librarian for assistance. Indexes over 170
sources providing consumer information. Provides access to
information about evaluations, tests, alerts, warnings, and recalls of
specific products, services, and facilities. Abstracts articles on
all aspects of consumerism and consumer protection. Coverage is
from 1986 to the present and the database is updated quarterly.
Dissertation Abstracts Online
Access provided in the Blackwell Library via FirstSearch. Please
ask the reference librarian for assistance. Provides indexing &
abstracts for over 1.5 million dissertations & theses from institutions
in the North America and Europe. This database is updated monthly
and covers titles from 1861 to the present. Abstracts are provides
beginning in 1980 and thesis abstracts beginning in 1988.
EconLit (EBSCO)
EconLit is a reliable source of citations & abstracts to economic
research in over 400 books, journals, dissertations, and working papers.
Provides comprehensive information on accounting, capital markets,
econometrics, economic forecasting, government regulations, labor
economics, monetary theory, and urban economics. Coverage is from
1969 to the present.
(Gale) Business Insights: Essentials
Business Insights: Essentials brings together in a single database
company profiles, company brand information, rankings, investment
reports, company histories, chronologies, and periodicals. Search this
database to find detailed company and industry news and information.
Coverage is from 1980 to the present.
Historical Wall Street Journal (Proquest)
Provides full-text and full-image articles from the Wall Street Journal.
The collection includes digital reproductions of every page from every
issue--cover to cover--in downloadable PDF files. Coverage is from
1889 to 1988.
Hoover's Company Records
(in LEXIS-NEXIS)
Provides full-text information about companies, industries, and the
people who lead them. Coverage includes more than 40,000
companies, 225,000 key executives, and more than 600 industries.

CO(Boeing)
JSTOR
(Arts & Sciences I, II, and III)
Provides access to PDF images of 26 Finance & Economics scholary
journals. The complete archives of these core scholarly journals
have been digitized, starting with the very first issues, many of which
date from the 1800s. Current journals are not included (from 2-5 years)
because of agreements made with publishers.
Lexis-Nexis Academic
Full-text database that offers a wide range of news, political, legal,
business, and reference information. Coverage of sources varies
according to publication title. See,

Mergent Online
Formerly known as Moody's Financial Information Service, Mergent Online
provides full-text business descriptions, corporate histories and
detailed financial data for over 10,000 public U.S. and 17,000 non-U.S.
public companies. Provides access to the EDGAR database for SEC
Filings.
Morningstar
[2 seats]
Morningstar's data reports cover more than 20,000 securities with
historical data back to 1996. Off-campus, sign in using your Gull
Card barcode and last name. Choose Salisbury University as the
campus and then click the log in button.
Ebsco eBooks database
A collection of 4,522 electronic texts (digital full-text versions of
books which exactly match hardback content) covering topics specifically
chosen by Maryland Academic Libraries. Collection strengths
include computer science, business, international relations, education,
environmental science, psychology, and civil rights law & history.
Regional Business News (EBSCO)
This database provides comprehensive full-text for 50+ regional business
publications (including titles from Crain Communications).
Coverage is from 1990; varies with publication title.
Research Insight (Standard & Poor's)
This database is available on library & lab computers on campus.
It is a well-known powerful financial analysis software & database
program combined. RI provides a rolling 20 years of annual data,
12 years of quarterly data, 7 years of business & geographic segment
data, and 240 months of stock prices and dividend data for approximately
16,000 active and inactive companies. First time users
should consult help guides
before use.
Science Direct
(Elsevier)
Broad science coverage with particular emphasis on life sciences,
engineering, earth sciences and pharmacology. Also includes
coverage in the areas of business, management and accounting; economics,
econometrics and finance; decision sciences and computer sciences.
SPIN (InfoEd International)
*This database is only available through on campus access.
SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network) is a funding opportunities
database designed to provide up-to-date information on current federal,
non-federal, and international funding opportunities including
fellowships, research grants, publication support, sabbatical support,
RFAs (NIH Guide), Curriculum Development, Conference Support, & RFPs
(Commerce Business Daily). Indexes more than 11,000 separate
funding opportunities from more than 2,500 sponsoring agencies.
STAT-USA (Globus & NTDB) Database
This database is only available in the Blackwell Library Reference Area.
Ask the reference librarian for access. STAT-USA provides access
to widely used government publications focused on international trade,
country analysis, and economic data. For more information,

USA Trade Online
This database is only available in the Blackwell Library Reference Area
as part of the STAT-USA Database subscription. Ask the reference
librarian for access. It provides U.S. export & import information
on more than 18,000 commodities worldwide. For more

Wall Street Journal (Proquest)
Part of the National Newspapers database, indexes, abstracts, and
provides full-text for the Wall Street Journal newspaper.
Section C data is available but is indexed by article title.
(Browse the publication by date and look for section C articles by
title) Indexing & abstracting are from 1/5/82 and full-text coverage is
from 1/2/84.
WorldCat
(FirstSearch)
This database is the OCLC Online Union Catalog. This catalog
provides a single interface so that users can search worldwide library
holdings with descriptions. It provides an electronic index to
more than 49 million records for books, journals, and other multimedia
sources. Coverage is from 1501 to the present.
Worldscope (Thomson Financial)
Access provided in the Blackwell Library via FirstSearch. Please
ask the reference librarian for assistance. Provides the latest
basic financial information on public companies worldwide.
Includes information from a variety of sources and documents such as
annual reports, disclosure statements, newspapers, & wire services.
Updated weekly. Please check other financial databases such
as Mergent/FIS Online first.
