Searching the Physical Collections - Direct Borrowing
  
Put very simply, Direct Borrowing is the sharing of resources between libraries.  This means you may borrow circulating books from any of the other libraries in the USMAI system, quickly and free of charge, by requesting them electronically.  You may select the library where you would like to pick the items up and return them.  The only caveat is that you will need your 14-digit ID/Barcode (back of Gull Card).

STEP 1: Open the library catalog (catalogusmai) by clicking the 'Find Books and More' link from the library home page.  At the top of your search screen, click on the 'choose campus' link (#1 below).

STEP 2: This will open a page listing all the USMAI institutions.  Click on the 'catalog' link under USMAI (all campuses) (#2 below).

STEP 3 & 4: You will be returned to a basic search screen from which you click on the 'advanced search' link in the gold bar (#3 below).  The original search screen will appear, with one major difference - you will now be searching the holdings in all the USMAI campus libraries (#4).
