About the Play:
The play, whatever you may feel about its
quality as drama, is an important documentation
of historic events and provides a realistic
account of the difficulties experienced by all
individuals with sensory deprivations of both
hearing and vision. The difficulties portrayed
in Miss Keller's education are not dissimilar to
educating today's deaf-blind children; however,
there are some basic differences when comparing
Miss Keller to the children we are educating
today. Differences also exist between lack of
services in Miss Keller's time and society's
provisions and concerns for these children
today.
