ESL Tutors

Monday: 10 AM - 12 PM and 1 PM - 4 PM

Tuesday: 10 AM - 4 Pm                  

Wednesday: 10 Am - 4 PM

Thursday: 10 Am - 4 PM

Salisbury University offers free English as a Second Language tutoring to current international students.  Tutors offer help for ESL students with:  grammar and homework questions, developing topic sentences and thesis statements, essay organization and coherency, essay revision (2nd drafts), and conversation and pronunciation.

 

ESL tutoring Frequently Asked Questions:

1) How should I prepare for my appointment?

The tutors can help you with any aspect of your ESL coursework, but they do not have prepared lessons.  You should bring any class materials or assignments that you would like help with.  Think of specific questions that you want answers to.

2) Can I meet with a tutor without an appointment?

Yes, you may meet with a tutor, if one is available, for a 10-minute session. 

3) How do I cancel an appointment?

Cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance and are made online at the same site where you schedule an appointment.

4) When are the tutors available?

Tutoring is offered during fall and spring semesters only.  Days and times change every semester; please check at the beginning of fall 2008 semester for details.

5) Who are the tutors?

The ESL tutors are graduate students of the MATESOL program.  They are familiar with courses and the assignments that SU’s instructors require.  They can also direct students to resources for self-study and further language learning.
