Do you want to improve your English in order to enroll at an American university? Salisbury University offers an intensive program of study designed to help international students with their English skills. Use the links on the left to find out more about our program. To apply, please complete and submit the form below, or download the paper ELI Application in PDF format and return it to Salisbury University. Once your application is submitted, we will also need your proof of high school diploma or university/college transcript and a completed Financial Document with proof of funds.

Who Should Apply?

The English Language Institute is intended for non-native speakers who wish to improve their English fluency in order to apply to an American university. Salisbury University requires a TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based test) in order to apply as a degree-seeking student. If your TOEFL score is below a 550, consider enrolling in the ELI as a way to improve your English skills.

  • have at least a tourist knowledge of English
  • be at least 17 years old
  • have completed at least secondary school in their country.
