Faculty-Led Continuing Education Opportunities

Salisbury University sponsors faculty-led international programs in many different disciplines all around the world.  On these programs you travel and study with Salisbury University faculty, earn Salisbury University credits, and study alongside Salisbury University students. While all programs are open to non-matriculated students, the following programs are particularly well suited for alumni and non-traditional students:

History of Paris - FULL!
History of Paris is a unique academic program offered by Salisbury University to provide travelers of all ages and walks of life with a thoughtful and reflective experience in one of the greatest cities in the world.  Participants will enjoy all of the treasures of Paris as short-term tourists under the guidance of experienced faculty of French language and culture who will teach them about what they are seeing and help them to understand Paris in a way they might not as independent tourists.  It is open to Salisbury University students as well as members of the community and students from other universities.

Italy: History and the Environment - FULL!
The Department of Environmental Health presents this special opportunity to study the effects of the environment on the development of Italian history and culture. Based in Rome, this nine day program, which earns just one academic credit, is a perfect opportunity for people of all ages and all walks of life who would like to travel and learn about Italy and the environment.

First Annual Alumni International Program

During the summer 2008, the Center for International Education in cooperation with the Alumni Association will offer the first annual Alumni International Program.  This annual event will allow alumni to travel and learn abroad under the direction of a Salisbury University faculty member.  This non-credit international experience is designed especially for alumni.  Each year the program will be joined by a surprise member of the university administration.

Andalucía: Muslim and Christian Heritage in Southern Spain (June 15-25, 2008) - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Join your fellow alumni for a 10 day tour of sunny southern Spain.  An SU Spanish professor will lead alumni through Al-Andaluz.  For seven centuries, modern day Andalucía was dominated by Muslims from North Africa.  Alumni will visit sites in Málaga, Sevilla, Granada, and Córdoba where the beauty of both the Muslim and Christian cultures that make up Andalucía's heritage is most evident.  The tour will end with a relaxing few days on the sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol on the Mediterranean Sea.
