Perdue School of Business, in collaboration with the
School for International Business at the Dongbei
University of Finance and Economics in Dalian, China,
offers students a
chance to experience firsthand one of the world’s most
unique and fast changing societies.
The The Perdue Summer Program in China
is based in
Dalian, a port city in northeastern China. With its wide
boulevards, beautiful green spaces, and beaches Dalian
is one of the most dynamic cities in China.
Program runs for three weeks from late
May through late June.
ECON 441 International Economics:
This course will
study economic concepts and theories for international
business, international trade and finance, commercial
policy, foreign investment and multinational firms.
Prerequisites: Econ 211, Econ 212 or instructor’s
BUAD 396 Business in
Study Abroad: Financial
Institutions and Markets in a World Economy: This course
examines the structure and functions of depository and
non-depository institutions, the money and capital
markets, and the role of government in the financial
markets. Emphasis will be on both US and international
banking environments with attention to foreign exchange
markets, exchange rate behavior, risk management and
international trade financing. Prerequisite: FINA 311

Economics (DUFE) is a
multidisciplinary university focusing on Economics and
Management together with Law and Liberal Arts. DUFE is
one of the top business universities in China. Graduates
of DUFE hold key positions in various Chinese
governmental, financial and banking institutions. The
university has over 10,000 students (graduate and
undergraduate). DUFE has established collaborative
relationships with over forty foreign universities.
EXCURSIONS: The program
significant travel within China. Past excursions
have included, Shanghai - the largest economic entity in
China one of China's principle
international cities, and
Beijing – the capital city and the political, cultural,
and administrative center of China.
In Beijing students have visited
the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, Summer Palace,
Temple of Heaven, and the Peking University.

Students stay in the International
House on DUFE campus designed for foreign students and
faculty in Dalian. While in Beijing, students stay
at the International Student Activity Center with easy
access to city center. Both places are facilitated with
air conditioning, private full bath, TV, and more.
Estimated cost for the Perdue Summer
in China program is $4700. The
final cost will be determined in Spring 2011.
