Exchange with the

Technische Universitat Berlin

The Technische Universitat Berlin (TUB) is one of three universities in Berlin and the largest technical university in Germany.  With eight distinct departments, TUB offers classes in 50 subject areas covering all fields of study.  Students have the opportunity to study with over 30,000 students, one-fifth of them being international students from 130 different countries.   Located in the middle of a city full of history and culture, students learn much more than classroom material.

HOST INSTITUTION: Each year students from TUB come to Salisbury University to study and students from Salisbury travel to TUB.  There are two exchange slots available to SU students at the Technische Universitat Berlin each semester.  Students must have at a minimum elementary competency in German, normally demonstrated by the completion of German 102. Selection for the exchange slots is competitive.  Exchange students pay the equivalent of full time tuition and fees to their home institution and study tuition-free at their host university.  Additional fees include international airfare, room and board in Berlin, insurance, passport and visa fees, and personal expenses.  Costs may fluctuate according to the exchange rate.

CITY OF BERLIN:  With a population of 3.4 million, Berlin is the largest city in Germany, and the third largest city in the European Union.  The capital of Germany, it is renowned as a center for culture and the arts.  It is rich in museums and historical landmarks.  As an international metropolis, it offers all of the sophistication of a world capital from shopping to cafes, nightclubs, and restaurants offering flavors from around the world.  The Technical University of Berlin is nestled amidst all of this bustling activity and SU students have ample opportunity to enjoy all that one of the greatest cities in the world has to offer.
