Students will travel with the Austral group and have a unique opportunity to learn about how social media impacts business and the Peru economy and culture. Students will conduct background research, and participate in a ten-day interactive learning experience in Lima, Cusco, and Machu Picchu. The experience will provide students with a broader understanding of the interconnectedness of our global marketplace and expose them to how international business and our global economy shape the history of a country. Excursions are centered on presentations by top executives at multinational and local companies. All will take place in and around the city of Lima, Cusco and the historically vast Machu Picchu. Students will return with a first-hand account of how social media impacts the culture, history, cuisine, arts and economic structure of a country steeped in tradition and history.
