Salisbury University students have the opportunity to spend the semester or year at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Korea.

The HUFS provides a unique opportunity to all those who want to deepen their understanding of Korean society and the sources of its current trends. Classes are taught in English and students may take Korean language courses as well. The HUFS ISS program has both international students and domestic Korean student studying side-by-side in the same classroom shring in project work, extra-curricular and free-time activities. International students come from all of the globe providing an opportunity to learn about Korean culture as well as many other parts of the world. The class sizes typically do not exceed 12-15 students which allows personalized education from leading professors.

Classes
SU students are able to take classes in multiple academic disciplines along with students from Korea, the United States and all around the world. Students may choose from courses in the following departments:

  • College of Chinese
  • College of Japanese
  • College of Occidental Languages
  • College of Oriental Languages
  • College of Business Administration
  • College of Business and Economics
  • College of Social Sciences
  • College of Law
  • College of Education
  • Division of International Studies
  • Korean Studies

Housing
Students are housed on campus in a university residence hall with other international students. Rooms for either two students (doubles) or three students (triples) are available. Double rooms will be assigned for international exchange/visiting students.All rooms are air-conditioned and come equipped with following items:

  • Bed, Desk, Closet, Security Locker, Telephone (free International call available), Refrigerator
  • Free Internet access (Lan-line / Wifi)
  • Separate Toilet / Bathroom
  • Free long distance phone calls to USA and other nations

Application
To apply download the Study Abroad program application form on the "Application Forms" section and follow the steps for Visiting Student Program. Be certain to attach a recommendation letter from a university professor and other supporting documents described on the application form.

Application deadline for Fall 2013 or Academic Year 2013/2014 is Wednesday, May 15th, 2013.
