Salisbury University students are able to study Spanish language, culture and civilization as well as courses in English Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Economics, in Barcelona, Spain at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra, through SU's long-term affiliated study abroad partner, International Studies Abroad. Barcelona (pop. 1.5 million) is the heart and capital of the region of Cataluña in the northeast corner of Spain. The origin of this Mediterranean city goes back more than 2,500 years - ruled by Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths, Moors, and Franks until it finally became part of the Spanish empire in the 17th century. A bustling port city on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is an excellent destination to study international business and Europe from a Spanish perspective.
