Salisbury University students can study Spanish courses at the beginning, intermediate or advanced levels along with elective coursework in English or Spanish in such areas as Latin American Studies, international business, intercultural communication, conflict resolution and other disciplines at the Universidad Viña del Mar in Viña del Mar, Chile through SU's long-term affiliated study abroad partner, Academic Programs International. Built on the land of two former estates, the city of Viña del Mar began in the late 1800s and has grown to become a popular destination for Chileans, Argentines and other tourists from around the world. Often called the “Garden City”, it was once known primarily for its beautiful beaches. Viña del Mar is also known as a university town. It is a safe and relaxed city where visiting students can study Chilean language and culture. The Universidad Viña del Mar is a private institution in Chile that boasts a beautiful campus a short bus ride away from the center of Viña del Mar. The Universidad Viña del Mar offers visiting students the opportunity to complete Spanish language courses at all levels in combination with a variety of elective courses in either English or Spanish. All students complete a placement test upon arrival to determine their Spanish level. All Spanish language and culture courses consist only of visiting students, but courses taught in English are also open to Chilean students. For more information and application materials see the Academic Programs International: Chile Semester website. |
