Salisbury University students have the opportunity to spend five weeks in the summer in São Paulo, Brazil, through SU's long-time study abroad partner, the American Institute of Foreign Study. Founded in 1554 by Jesuit priests, São Paulo is the largest city in South America and has a unique ethnic diversity, not found anywhere else in the world. The multicultural metropolis is the economic and cultural heart of Brazil with the highest national consumer market and a vibrant fashion and music scene. All students take seven credits while studying at the Fundão Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP). Students earn four credits fo Portuguese 101 or 102 and an additional 3 credits for a course in English. Some of the courses in English include Brazilian Culture, Doing Business in Brazil, Brazilian Art, Religion and Sociology, and Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Brazil. For more information and application materials see the American Institute for Foreign Study: São Paulo, Brazil website. |
