The Perdue School of Business offers its annual Winter Business Program in France again during January semester 2013.  The Program offers students the opportunity to experience business studies in the heart of the European Union. Tentative dates for the program are January 2-20, 2013.  Final details of the itinerary in France will be released in fall 2012.  The program begins with several days of study on main campus in Salisbury and students then spend two weeks studying and visiting businesses in France.  The travel to France always ends with several days in Paris including a rich itinerary of cultural activities in the City of Lights. 

CLASSES: Classes begin in Salisbury and while abroad students attend classes each morning, Monday-Friday. Afternoons are reserved for site visits to local firms, cultural tours, guest speakers, and independent research/study.

Students are required to take one of the following classes:

Undergraduate:
ACCT 435 ACCOUNTING IN ITS GLOBAL SETTING
BUAD 386 BUSINESS IN ITS GLOBAL SETTING

Graduate:
ACCT 630 INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTING
BUAD 686 GLOBAL BUSINESS

EXCURSIONS: The program will either be based in the southern Alpine city of Grenoble or the the Eastern business center of Rennes, France.  Site visits will consist of tours and visits to companies in and around either Grenoble or Rennes. Students finish their time in France with a three day stay in Paris where they will have an opportunity to explore the city.

HOUSING: Students will stay in tourist-class hotels located near the exchange school, public transportation, local eateries and tourist attractions.

COST: Total cost of the business and culture program is estimated at $3,900. Final cost will be determined in fall 2012. The price includes: housing, some meals, round trip transportation-plane and train, all tuition and instructional costs, site visits, ground transfers and taxes and assistance by program staff traveling with group.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Admission is competitive and enrollment is limited to 30 participants. Students will be admitted on a rolling basis until the program is full. Students will be selected based on Business discipline, GPA (minimum of 2.5 required), written essay, and one letter of recommendation.  The deadline has been extended to May 10, 2012. 

Students will be notified of their acceptance by May 16, 2012.   Deposit must be paid by May 22, 2012.

Once the program reaches maximum enrollment, additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Students with judicial and/or academic violations may be ineligble for participation.
