SU Procedures and Timelines
The Boren Scholarships’
national application deadline is February 10, 2011 at 11:59 PM
EST. All applications must be submitted online.
The Salisbury University application deadline is January 22,
2011. The online application must be submitted, and the
supplementary materials should be given to your
Boren
campus representative, by your on-campus
deadline.
Boren Scholarship Application Checklist:

Contact your

for your on-campus deadline.
Continue to work with your
campus representative during
the application process.

Submit the Boren Scholarship
application, which includes
the items listed
below. Before starting the
online
application,
remember to read the
application instructions.

section

a
budget section
-
two statements of
purpose
-
Submit the following
supplementary materials to
your campus representative.

an envelope with the
signature across the
seal, when they are
submitted to your campus
representative. Two
letters are required,
and you may include a
third optional letter.
Completed
letters of reference.
Letters of reference
must be signed, original
letters

Official, hard copy,
transcripts from all
colleges and
universities attended.
Freshmen must also
include high school
transcripts.

Language self-assessment
- Complete this form
using the
Language self-assessment
guide.

Language proficiency
form
(optional)

Choose one of the
following:

One page
study abroad program
description with
cost information.
(This may be a page
from the program’s
website or a
photocopy of part of
the program
brochure.)

If you set up a
direct enrollment or
individually
arranged study
abroad program,
please provide two
letters of support.
The first letter
should be from your
home institution and
the second letter
should be from your
overseas host
institution.

Fellowships'
national application deadline is February 1, 2011 at 11:59 PM
EST. All applications must be submitted online.

Boren
campus representative, by your on-campus
deadline.
Boren Fellowship Application Checklist:

essays.

universities and
colleges attended.

Evidence of
enrollment in a
graduate degree
program (provided by
a current transcript
or documentation
from the registrar's
office. Applicants
who are not enrolled
in a graduate degree
program when
applying for a
fellowship must
indicate the
graduate programs to
which they have
applied in the
online application).

Letter of overseas
affiliation - If
possible, applicants
should provide a
letter from an
academic
institution,
research institute,
non-governmental
organization, and/or
an individual who is
aware that the
applicant is
planning study
and/or research in
that country and is
willing to assist
the applicant in
coordinating his or
her plans.
Applicants should
remember that the
letter of
affiliation is
not required
at the time of
application,
and the lack of this
letter should not
stop one from
applying.
