SafeAssign
A plagiarism prevention service provides a systematic approach to detecting
plagiarism, especially the "cut and paste" method. Through the electronic
submission of papers, the service will generate an originality report comparing
the paper with Internet resources, the ProQuest® database of journal articles
and periodicals as well as work submitted by other students across the country.
Salisbury University is transitioning between Turnitin’s plagiarism prevention
service and SafeAssign plagiarism prevention service available through
MyClasses. As such, Teaching and Learning Resources will no longer be creating
Turnitin accounts. Faculty already using Turnitin can continue to use this
service until August 2009.
SafeAssign is a plagiarism prevention service available in
MyClasses. This service helps faculty prevent
plagiarism by detecting unoriginal content in student papers. In addition to
acting as a plagiarism deterrent, it also has features designed to aid in
educating students about plagiarism and importance of proper attribution of any
borrowed content.
Faculty who are interested in using SafeAssign can attend a
workshop scheduled by Instructional Design & Delivery. Use of
SafeAssign requires the use of a MyClasses course, which you can request using
the course request form.
