program at Salisbury University (Salisbury, MD)
and its satellite program at the Universities of
Shady Grove (Rockville, MD) are accredited by
the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory
Care (www.coarc.com).
CoARC, formerly a
specialized arm of the Commission on Accreditation
of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP),
became a freestanding accreditor of respiratory
care programs as of November 12, 2009. The CoARC
intends to seek recognition from the Council for
Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and
membership in the Association for Specialized and
Professional Accreditors (ASPA) - the same
organizations that recognize CAAHEP.
