University Analysis, Reporting, & Assessment |
(Including Summer 2005)
As one of our many annual compliance obligations to the USM, Salisbury University must report the extra-instructional activity of all full-time faculty. Over the years, these data have been critical in communicating the extensive professional, scholarly, public service, and research activities of our faculty. This information routinely validates to the Legislature, the Governor, and the public that a teaching load of 6 - 8 courses a year constitutes a significant and demanding workload that is augmented by equally demanding activities for academic, professional, and public benefit.
Please complete the following questionnaire and submit it electronically to the Office of University Analysis, Reporting, & Assessment. Although you may choose to use the results in your personal portfolio, the survey was never and is not intended to be used as an evaluative tool. Only the University and the Faculty are evaluated through the results—hence the emphasis for maximum participation. That being said, many department chairs and deans use the results to highlight the specific accomplishments of their faculty. When the data are submitted to the USM or other external parties, the results are submitted in the aggregate for Salisbury University. Your individual responses will be disclosed ONLY to YOU, YOUR department chair, and YOUR academic dean.
Immediately after you "Submit" the survey, you will receive a printout of your responses. You may want to place a copy of that report and any supporting materials in your academic portfolio.
The survey deadline is June 15, 2006.
Please note that majority of these questions need approximations only. An educated estimate is all that is required—you do not need to be precise.
