SU’s Undergraduate Physical Education Program. The program is located in the School of Education’s Health and Sport Sciences Department and is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). The curriculum is designed to prepare students for a career immediately upon graduation in Physical Education.
We offer many opportunities for you to collaborate with professionals in local Professional Development Schools and in international settings around the world. Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) provides ample opportunity in learning knowledge, demonstrating motor skills, and teaching physical activities in various educational settings. We also offer minors such as Exercise science, Outdoor education, Health education, and Athletic coaching. We are confident that students can reach their goals as long as they remain committed to personal growth and professional achievement.
Our graduates are now working as excellent teachers in K-12 Physical education in many states. SU PETE have very successful record for passing MSDE requirements of teaching credential.
