Athletic Grounds Coordinator Physical Plant
The Human Resources Office is pleased to announce that William “Bill” Harris, Athletic Grounds Coordinator, in the Physical Plant department has been selected as the Employee of the Month for May 2016! Bill was nominated by Kevin Mann, Director of Physical Plant, for his dedication and the positive impact his hard work has made within Physical Plant. The nomination indicates Bill agreed to fulfill the Interim Assistant Director of Horticulture and Grounds at a time when significant operational changes were needed in the department; most especially “there was a staffing shortage negatively impacting the appearance of the grounds on campus. The entire Horticulture and Grounds Department worked additional hours trying to bring the appearance of the campus back up to standard. During Bill’s 22 months of serving as the Interim Assistant Director, he had a positive effect on the department by training new & existing staff and implementing new policies, procedures and standards to develop a systematic way of maintaining and improving the campus grounds. Bill also worked with Admissions in reviewing the standard campus tour and worked with his staff to enhance the landscape along the tour route in order to attract new students. Bill’s regular duties entail working with the Athletic Team coaches and staff maintaining the athletic fields on East Campus. Management routinely receives compliments of Bill’s dedication keeping the Athletic fields the best in the conference.” In closing, Bill’s dedication and contributions to Salisbury University have earned him the Employee of the Month award.
