April 2017
Vanice Antrum
Vanice Antrum
Program Coordinator
Multicultural Student Services
Vanice was nominated by Associate Dean of Students, Dr. Lawanda Dockins-Mills for her enthusiasm, willingness to help and dedication to Salisbury University. The nomination recognizes, “Vanice offers her time and talents to students and the University far beyond the typical 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. workday. She is authentic, has great listening skills, effective coaching skills, is inspirational and ever optimistic; all the qualities that a good student practitioner must possess…I extended an invitation to Vanice to serve on the New Student Reader and Sophomore Year Experience committees, because I knew she would jump right in and make a difference. I was absolutely right! She recognized the importance of establishing social media outlets for the respective programs in efforts to put forth our agenda. Vanice immediately rolled up her sleeves and took on the lead in launching Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram accounts for the programs. The response we’ve received from students has been phenomenal...We can always count on Vanice’s assistance for obtaining student volunteers for these programs which is critical. She has a “how can I help” attitude in everything she is involved in.” In closing, the nomination states, “I have found Vanice to be a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring staff member who constantly puts the needs of our students in the forefront.”
