Employee Recognition Program

Employees of the Month

July 2015
Kevin Malone
Kevin Malone
IT Helpdesk Manager
Information Technology
Kevin was nominated by a Faculty member for his positive attitude and dedication to excellent customer service. The nomination stated, “I stopped in to the help desk to get assistance with loading my SU email account onto my new iPhone…Unfortunately we were stymied and I had to leave without getting my iPhone to properly recognize my email account. I was surprisingly called the next day by Mr. Malone, who apologized for not being there to help me and invited me to come back so we could solve the problem. Mr. Malone literally refused to let me leave until the problem was fixed and we understood why my iPhone was not configuring the email correctly.” The nomination went on to explain a second time Mr. Malone surpassed expectations by patiently assisting the same faculty member with different features he was having trouble with. In a letter of support for the nomination, Duke Darrigo, Director of IT Operations, stated, “Mr. Malone consistently strives to provide excellent customer support to the Salisbury University community….and he routinely looks to improve processes and procedures to more efficiently serve the needs of the University.” In closing, the letter of support also stated, “His ability to understand the customer’s needs, provide thoughtful and effective resolutions, and foster a culture of customer-centric service is to be commended.”
