Heather Porter was nominated by Dr. Heather Holmes, Director of Center for Student Achievement, because of her impactful hard work, commitment to students, and her exceptional professionalism. Heather “has developed an outstanding Supplemental Instructor Leader Training and In-Service Program that incorporates “what to learn” with “how to learn”. She excels in her ability to incorporate new initiatives and develop programs to increase student success.” In the nomination from Dr. Heather Holmes, she indicated, “Aaron Basko, Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management, has called on Heather several times to intervene with undecided students who are on probation, not registered for classes, or have holds on their accounts. In each case, Heather has happily contacted and worked with each student to retain them to next semester.” Heather goes above and beyond what her job duties call for and is a sought after resource who “defines what it means to be student-centered.” Dr. Heather Holmes stated, “Heather’s willingness to help students and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students sets her apart from others.”
