Jenny was nominated by Jennifer Bergner, Professor & MSME Program Director, for her commitment, creativity, organizational skills and teamwork which have been a tremendous benefit to the Mathematics and Computer Science department, and has strengthened the efficiency of the department. Jenny’s excellent administrative support is often recognized by graduate students and faculty who have noted her superb organizational skills. Through the creation of many useful spreadsheets and processes, which ensures immediate access to enrollment data and student progress, she has improved the department’s program effectiveness. The nomination also noted “Jenny’s passion for the annual High School Mathematics competition, which draws approximately 25 teams of talented high school math students from across Delmarva, and has translated into a well-coordinated competition day that these talented math students and their coaches can enjoy.” She has developed creative ideas for themes and is instrumental in coordinating participation, funding and overall organization of this event. In a letter of support, Dr. Mike Bardzell, Department Chair, wholeheartedly endorsed the nomination and echoed all the strengths and attributes mentioned in the nomination. In summary, Jenny is highly engaged in her work and SU. She is an invaluable asset not just for her skillset, but also for her contribution to a positive work environment as she faces challenges with a smile and stays in tune with others to know when someone may need a helping hand or a supportive ear. In closing, “Jenny is a tremendous positive force in our department” and “she will do whatever it takes to support those around her.”
