Debra was nominated by Kevin Mann, Director of Physical Plant, for the Employee of the Month award due to her professionalism, attention to detail and exceptional job knowledge. Her expertise does not just comprise of know-how about her job duties, but also includes departmental and overall institutional knowledge. This overall knowledge is not just utilized in her position but shared, thus supporting the comment that “Debra is the local expert on what all University departments do so that she can assist others”, internal or external, by providing them with the appropriate direction necessary to complete their task. Kevin notes “I routinely receive compliments for her professionalism and attention to detail.” An example provided was the Physical Plant’s office move to the East Campus last year, which was an extremely complicated process. Debra’s constant attention to detail in the planning process and follow-up was instrumental in its success. In closing, Kevin noted that “Debra’s value to Physical Plant operations and the University is hard to put into words” but, life without her can be summarized in one word, “difficult”.
