Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 58 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Digital Media Designer.

Primary Job Duties: This position is primarily responsible for three campus digital initiatives: marquee sign, stadium video board and building digital signage. Marquee Sign responsibilities include but are not limited to: Executing editorial calendars and developing, writing and layout of digital content. Creating layouts and illustrations communicating academic highlights, admissions info, cultural and athletic events campus-wide through daily event postings on the Marquee Signs. Stadium video board responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinating and executing digital campaigns, player profiles and Athletic Marketing messages that are displayed on the Stadium Video Board. Creating and producing graphics that will enhance the game-day experience for all sporting events within the stadium. Interior Campus Building Digital Signage responsibilities include but are not limited to: Using special software to set up and display messaging throughout the campus on select TV monitors. This position will work with IT/AVS to implement brand-specific templates and teach new content editors how to use the system. In addition, this position is responsible for translating digital marketing messages to SU’s Public Relations and Athletics social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.). Lastly, the position will assist with creating digital photo galleries, Constant Contact emails and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two years progressively responsible experience as a Graphic Artist. Proficient with Macintosh computers and operating systems; industry-standard graphic design software to include: QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and social media best practices.

Skill with graphics and digital production methods from concept to a finished product. Ability to provide excellent customer service, work independently and in a team environment; to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients both orally and in writing. Ability to coordinate graphic design projects; to understand and to interpret information in a visual manner; to operate computer graphic systems and software. Ability to follow SU Marketing/Style Guidelines and produce a large amount of materials very quickly.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Art preferred. Proficiency using online marketing platforms (such as Constant Contact), Microsoft Excel, video editing software (Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro), Illustrator preferred. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, proofreading, document formatting and editing is preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $35,728.00 annually, which is approximately $17.13 per hour.
