Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Academic Program Specialist – Provost Office.
Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, independently coordinates the operational tasks involved in the day to day administrative support of the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs. Work requires comprehensive knowledge of the university and its academic programs and skill in working with issues related to policies, procedures, and confidential matters. The work involves considerable participation in the work of the supervisor thereby requiring the incumbent to exercise discretion and judgment with significant consequences of error.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with one year experience administrative staff experience or High School Diploma/GED with six years of administrative staff experience. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Preferred Qualifications: Work experience should involve program coordination as a primary responsibility. Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Cascade.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: General knowledge of business English, spelling, and grammar. Skill in performing basic mathematical computations. Effective techniques in collecting, compiling, and organizing information. Proficient in the use of technology. Knowledge of office procedures and efficient workflow. Knowledge of and experience in higher education. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with tact and discretion. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate personnel.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Salary range minimum is $35,728 annually, which is approximately $17.13 per hour. Salary is commensurate with experience.
