The Department of Teacher Education at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Elementary Education. The Elementary Education program is accredited by National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). This is a 10-month, renewable position.
Area of Specialization: Elementary Education, Special Education, or a related field.
Primary Job Duties: Teach undergraduate level courses in special education, classroom management, and elementary methods in the Department of Teacher Education as needed. Additional duties include academic advising, university/community service and utilizing effective teaching and classroom management strategies, which enhance the success of diverse learners, including use of online teaching techniques. The normal teaching load is 3 courses per semester, with an option for clinical supervision of interns.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Elementary Education, Special Education, or related field required. Must have at least three years of the U.S. elementary school teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Expertise related to Special Education is a priority. Ability to teach content in the areas of Special Education and Classroom Management. Preferred certifications include Elementary Education and Special Education. Experience teaching related courses in higher education.
