Administrative Assistant I (MASMI)

Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 58 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant I for the Mid-Atlantic Sales and Marketing Institute (MASMI).

Primary Job Duties: Assist the Director of MASMI by carrying out all administrative duties as delegated and required. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: creating and distributing marketing materials; updating the MASMI website as needed; corresponding with sponsors under the supervision of the Director; serving as liaison with students; helping to plan and organize all MASMI events.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience providing administrative support with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (or comparable system).

Preferred Qualifications: Marketing knowledge/background.

Requires knowledge of and experience with general office practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Must have an entrepreneurial nature and the ability to work without constant supervision.

This is a part-time (19 hrs. per week), non-exempt, contractual (contingent I) position with limited benefits. Starting wage is 16.34 per hour.
