The Department of Education at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Educational Leadership in the Department of Education Leadership and Graduate Studies. Salisbury University’s Educational Leadership Program offers the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership that leads to the Administrative I license in the State of Maryland and two post Masters Certificates in Educational Leadership. The SU EDLD program is nationally recognized by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE – now CAEP). This is a full-time tenure-track position.
Area of Specialization: Educational Leadership
Primary Job Duties: Teach graduate (and possibly some undergraduate) courses in the traditional areas of education and educational leadership, including but not limited to:
Teach in any delivery format to include online, hybrid/blended, web-based and distance education using IVN formats, and traditional face to face. Some travel to auxiliary sites may be required for teaching and/or recruiting. Advise students, engage in scholarly work in leadership, provide service to the department and university, and utilize effective teaching and classroom management strategies which enhance the success of diverse learners.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral Degree or ABD in Educational Leadership, Organizational Leadership, or related field. If ABD, the doctoral degree must be completed before the date of hire. Five years of experience as a site level administrator with at least three of those years as a Principal (or equivalent position). Must possess a record of university level educational leadership teaching experience appropriate to the rank considered, a record of scholarship appropriate to the rank considered, and other academic and/or professional activities in the field of educational leadership/leadership.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience at the district/county level as a Superintendent, Deputy/Associate/Assistant Superintendent, and/or Director/Coordinator level; experience teaching at the university level in an online environment; experience with the processes of organizational accreditation; evidence of experience in professional
