The Department of Health Sciences at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor.
Area of Specialization: Respiratory Therapy
Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities will depend upon the needs of the program and the abilities of the candidate, but current instructor status in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation is desirable. Utilization of an effective teaching style that supports a diverse student body is essential. Outstanding candidates in all areas of expertise will be considered, with special consideration given to those candidates with a strong record of externally funded research and consistent and current evidence of scholarly publication in refereed journals to support an active research program.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in a Health-Related Field. If ABD, doctoral degree must be complete within one year of date of hire.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Applicants must be an NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentorship and demonstrated clinical experience. Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Maryland. Applicants with an established record of research and scholarly productivity are encouraged to apply. Ability to teach a diversity of medical physiology related topics is desirable.
