The Department of Accounting & Legal Studies at Salisbury Universitys Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, Salisbury Maryland, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant/ Associate Professor to start Fall Semester 2015. Primary Job Duties: Teaching at the undergraduate level with the possibility of the graduate level in the classroom, and possibly hybrid and online formats. Teaching courses in cost/managerial, and either fraud/forensic accounting or government and not-for-profit accounting. The normal teaching load is nine credit hours per semester. Publishing scholarly research, and providing service to the department, school, and university. Utilize effective teaching and classroom management strategies which enhance the success of diverse learners.

Minimum Qualifications:

Assistant Professor 1) Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting or ABD in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution. If ABD, doctoral degree must be completed before date of hire; 2) ability to demonstrate excellent teaching skills; 3) Demonstrated ability to publish an ongoing stream of publications in scholarly peer-reviewed outlets; 3) Professional Accounting certification, e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA.

Associate Professor 1) Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting from and AACSB accredited institution; 2) Documented record of teaching excellence as evidenced by student and/or chair evaluations, grade distributions, etc; 3) Demonstrated ability to publish an ongoing stream of publications in scholarly peer-reviewed outlets (no fewer than 3 in the most recent five-year period); and, 4) Professional Accounting certification, e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA.

Candidates attending the American Accounting Association Annual Meeting should indicate such in their letter of interest. Department representatives will conduct informational discussions at the annual AAA meeting in August.

Review of applications to begin immediately. The position will remain open until filled. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be contingent upon verification of eligibility to work in the U.S. and is expected to begin August 2015.

This position is based in Salisbury Maryland. Founded in 1925, Salisbury University is one of 13 institutions that compose the University System of Maryland.
