Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Career Management in the Office of Career Services.
Primary Job Duties: The Director of Career Management position is an exceptional opportunity for a creative and energetic leader to reshape a small but well supported career services office. The Director provides strategic leadership and vision for the Office of Career Services to ensure that students are prepared for career success. Career Services at SU is part of an innovative structure within Enrollment Management. The Director reports to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, and is responsible for individual student counseling, employer outreach, faculty development and assistance pertaining to career related issues in and outside the classroom. The position tracks outcomes data related to jobs and internships and markets and shares outcomes data with other campus offices, as well as current and prospective students, current and prospective families, and employers. The Director is a campus champion for promoting the successes of the University's students and graduates.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Higher Education, Business, Liberal Arts or related field and 5-7 years of related experience. Must have demonstrated record of progressive leadership in student career development, corporate recruitment, or employer outreach and two years of supervisory or management experience.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be committed to helping students achieve personal and professional success. Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
This is a full-time, exempt, state position with a competitive benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
