Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Groundskeeper.
Primary Job Duties: Under direct supervision, performs manual labor duties in the maintenance of grounds and facilities.
Minimum Qualifications: Two years experience with grounds keeping equipment and/or duties preferred but not required. High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid Maryland Noncommercial Class C or equivalent driver's license is required. Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or medical examinations to determine ability to perform the job.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations; to follow oral and written instructions; to operate and perform minor maintenance to assigned hand and power tools and equipment; to perform work in, on, around, under and over trees, shrubs, and buildings and facilities; to work at heights up to 35 feet; to perform physical work requiring bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, and frequent heavy lifting; to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; to wear and work in personal protective equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
This is a full-time non-exempt State position with a full benefits package. Primary work schedule is Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Minimum starting salary is $10.20 per hour.
