The Counseling Center at Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Counselor.
Primary Job Duties: Provide individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention to students within the university community to address psychological and mental health concerns, to help them develop emotionally and socially, and to support their academic success. Provide consultation to faculty, staff, and parents concerning students developmental and mental health concerns and assist them in making appropriate referrals. Provide students with education and training related to suicide prevention, mental health promotion and academic success.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field; Doctoral degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years professional experience, preferably working with college students. MD licensed in psychology, social work, professional counseling or related field or license eligible.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated proficiency in therapy and assessment; ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups; excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work with the interdependent systems that exist in a university setting; and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
This is a full-time PIN position, with benefits. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
