The Departments of Teacher Education (http://www.salisbury.edu/teachered) and Education Specialties (http://www.salisbury.edu/educationspecialties) at Salisbury University are accepting applications for the position of Associate or Full Professor. The departments currently house multiple undergraduate and masters level, NCATE-accredited initial and advanced teacher certification programs, Pre-K through 12. The first cohort of a C & I Ed.D. program with a literacy concentration, is scheduled to begin Fall, 2014.
Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities: Teach courses at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral level. Student advising, service to university and profession, and an active scholarship agenda. Potential work with Professional Development Schools. Utilize effective teaching and classroom management strategies which enhance the success of diverse learners.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in education (literacy-related field preferred) and three years classroom teaching experience in a pre-K 12 educational setting. Experience teaching and advising in a doctoral program. Evidence of eligibility for appointment at associate or full professor rank.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Evidence of excellence in teaching; an established research agenda; ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to teach research courses and/or policy evaluation courses at the doctoral level desirable.

Appointment will be contingent upon verification of eligibility to work in the U.S. and will begin on August 15, 2014.
