Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Plumber.

Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, performs plumbing work at the journey level. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains water, gas, sewer, storm, and drain systems, and related equipment and pipelines. These piping systems include but are not limited to: fire sprinkler, domestic hot and cold water, heating and chilled water systems, pneumatic, gas, storm and sanitary lines, comprised of various materials such as PVC, CPVC, copper, ductile iron, steel, glass, Fuseal, etc. Performs, service calls and preventive maintenance work as directed by the written work order system and or radio dispatch. Completes required paper work daily, performs estimates of labor and materials. May, direct the work of other trades when serving as a lead on project work.

Minimum Qualifications: Four years of progressive experience in the plumbing trade. State of Maryland certified licensed plumber; and a valid drivers license; with less than 5 points are required.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Successful candidate will possess the required technical expertise and knowledge of the plumbing code, mathematical knowledge to perform piping layouts, calculating volumes, flow rates, etc. Be able to read and work from blue prints and schematic drawings. Able to measure, bend, cut, solder, thread, and weld pipe. Knowledge of the OSHA requirements that is necessary for performing plumbing work. Have the skills necessary for using tools of the trade. The ability to work from ladders, on scaffolds, man-lifts, in confined spaces, and in dirty, dusty, and wet conditions. Have the ability to lift /exert a force of up to 70 lbs. and be able to work over, under, and around existing equipment. Ability to read, write, and complete required paper work in a legible manner.

This is a full-time non exempt State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Minimum starting salary is $17.36 an hour.
