Primary Job Duties: Provides implementation, coordination and support of major multicultural student services events including but not limited to Powerful Connections Program, Peer Mentor/Mentee Program, Academic Monitoring, and the Multicultural Leadership Summit. Develop, implement and evaluate cultural programs that contribute to the enrichment of the University community and the development of ethnic identity through theme based events and activities which emphasize multicultural affinity groups. This position also assists with initiatives intended to support the retention of underrepresented groups to include advising, data collection, and office communication in consultation with the Director.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Higher Education or related field and a minimum of one to three years work experience in higher education (Graduate Assistant / Intern experience are acceptable). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Higher Education or related field. Experience advising student organizations, working with diverse populations as well as working knowledge of diversity education and training is preferred
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Demonstrated abilities to advise and provide leadership training for diverse student populations.
This is a full-time exempt State position with full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
