| The Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) is dedicated to providing a quality education to the students who enroll in the athletic training program at Salisbury University. A diverse and cooperative clinical environment that is located in the University’s Intercollegiate Athletic Department and various other affiliated sites is made available to every athletic training student with a commitment to an academic and clinical education that will prepare them for the Board of Certification Examination (BOC) and a professional career as an entry-level athletic trainer.
Program Goals 1. The Athletic Training Educational Program is designed to prepare the students for the BOC upon successful completion of the Athletic Training Educational Program and graduation from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training. 2. The Athletic Training Educational Program is designed to ensure that each student is offered the opportunity to complete all pre-requisites and core course requirements in a sequential and timely manner. 3. The Athletic Training Educational Program is designed for flexibility to accommodate the students desire to minor in related fields, take the prerequisites needed for entry into another health care program or for advanced studies in athletic training. 4. The Athletic Training Educational Program is committed to providing classroom instruction, clinical supervision and objective assessment and advising to the student that is consistent with the ideals of the NATA code of Professional Ethics. |
