Resident Director Reflections

Deanna Bertini, 2nd year
M.A. Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution

As a Resident Director at Salisbury University I have been provided with great opportunities for personal and professional growth. I have really enjoyed serving as a mentor to our Resident Assistants, and I cherish the relationships I have cultivated in the Housing and Residence Life department! The Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution master's program is unique and provides its students with practical, hands-on learning opportunities that can be applied to any future career. If you are looking for a positive and well-rounded experience, then Salisbury University is the place for you!

 Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution

What attracted me to Salisbury University was its unique Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution program. The Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution program is amazing because it affords many opportunities to study and work with well-known professionals in the field of Peace Building and Reconciliation. My experience as a Resident Director within the Housing and Residence Life department was an added bonus to my overall experience here at Salisbury University. What I like most about the department is the easygoing atmosphere and the autonomy it offers. The opportunity to build a community with a warm and welcoming staff has been the best part of being a Salisbury Sea Gull!

Coming to Salisbury to work as a Resident Director is definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. Getting to work in an environment where everyone works together to create an inclusive community is an amazing opportunity. Residence Life at SU is so unique in the way that we are a constant support system. Having a close friendship partnered with working well together is like getting to work with all of your friends. From the minute you step onto campus you are treated as a professional staff member. As a CADR student, I am learning a different aspect of how to work towards a career in student affairs. Salisbury University provides multiple opportunities to grow as a young professional and gain experiences that will help expand your knowledge.
