We need an opportunity to get to know you through an in-depth application that lets us know you're qualified to join our team. Applications will only be accepted electronically via the online application form. Simply complete the application, review your short essay answers for grammatical errors and click the "submit" button. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3! Minimum Requirements

  • Full-time, undergraduate student.

  • Minimum 2.20 cumulative GPA.

  • One semester of residence hall living experience.
  • Involvement within the hall or SU campus.
  • No serious disciplinary conduct within the hall or SU campus.
  • No outside employment during the first semester as an RA.
  • Must be able to serve as an RA for the entire academic year.

Interest Sessions

An open "try out" for the new season of RA's is listed below. All applicants are required to attend one interest session. You will receive in-depth information concerning the application, interview, and selection process. Current RA's will be on hand to share their experiences and answer your questions about what's it like to have one of the coolest jobs at Salisbury University.

  • Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 7pm - Sea Gull Square Classroom
  • Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 8pm - Sea Gull Square Classroom
  • Monday, November 18, 2013 at 7pm - Chester Hall Classroom
  • Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 8pm - Chester Hall Classroom

  • Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 6pm - Sea Gull Square Classroom

PRAN (Prospective RA Night) is an optional (highly encouraged) session for fall applicants, taking place on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 7-9pm in Perdue Hall 156.  Learn more about the Group Process interview, network with and befriend other applicants and current RAs, and ease your anxieties by asking any questions about the rest of the selection process.

Timeline for Fall 2014 Applicants

  • Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 8:00am: New RA Application is available. 

  • Monday, December 16, 2013 at 5:00pm: Application due via website for Fall 2014 Applicants.  References and Personal Expression are also due on this day to the Sea Gull Square Housing Office.

  • Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 7:00-9:00pm (Perdue Hall 156):  PRAN (Prospective RA Night) See above for details.

  • Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Perdue Hall 156: MANDATORY Group Process Day.  All applicants who want to be considered for fall openings must attend Group Process Day.  Wear appropriate clothing and come prepared to meet a lot of new people, find out more about the position, have fun and show off your interpersonal and problem solving skills!
    *Report at 9am.  The day will be over at 4pm.

  • TBANew RA Interviews.  Formal individual interviews begin with Housing and Residence Life staff and current RA's.  Sign-ups for interviews will take place at the Group Process Day.

  • TBANotification. Candidates will be notified by letter whether or not they are being offered a staff position.  Alternate positions may be offered as openings become available.

  • TBA: Deadline to accept or decline position. 

  • TBA: New RA Class Begins March 2014, after Spring Break. 

Application Process

  2. Reference Forms- (2) completed reference forms must be completed and submitted by the application deadline (TBA) to the Office of Housing and Residence Life. 

  3. Personal Expression - Due to the Sea Gull Square Housing Office by Monday, December 16, 2013 at 5:00pm. Your expression must be completed on a piece of paper no larger than 8 1/2" x 11" (must fit in a manila file folder). This item should describe something about you that you would want others to know. It can include: quotations, collages, photographs, paintings, poems, or anything showing initiative and creativity that would help others learn more about you. During the interview process, you will be asked to explain your expression. *This is a formal application document and should be presented in a manner worthy of a professional application process.
