All student rooms are equipped with an Ethernet connection for each student.  All of the academic buildings on campus are wireless, so a wireless internet card would be helpful for students who would like to do work outside of their rooms.

When students arrive on campus they will have access to and are required to install campus provided anti-virus software before accessing the internet.  It is helpful to have all previous anti-virus software removed from the system before bringing it to campus.  Below are suggestions from the IT office for students who are going to be purchasing a new computer.

There are computer labs that are located in the academic buildings and in Fulton Hall that are available for student use.  They are connected to the Salisbury University Network and students each have reserved space for saving documents.  The computer labs are also available for students who need to print documents for class.  Each student is allowed to print 300 pages a week free of charge.  Any additional pages the student wants to print they need to purchase at the printer.

  Student E-Mail Accounts
GroupWise 6.5 combines utilities for electronic mail, time management, and task delegation in one software package. GroupWise 6.5 provides not only e-mail capabilities, but you can also share calendars, documents and folders among a group of GroupWise account holders, grant and receive proxy access to other accounts, take control of your mailbox through Rules, Junk Mail filters and other controls, and manage your contacts and maintain a to-do list and other checklists.

GroupWise is accessible on all Windows based campus computers owned by Salisbury University, including all of our Information Technology labs. It is also accessible by non-Windows based computers and from off-campus users through the web through GroupWise WebAccess.

All faculty, staff, and students who are taking at least one class have a GroupWise account created for them. The GroupWise account shares its password with there Network and WebCT accounts.
