Assignments - Incoming Freshmen

Students who are given a reserved housing status upon admission to Salisbury University must then complete the housing application and pay the housing deposit during the application period in order to be eligible for an assignment.  After the application process is completed, your reserved status will be changed to guaranteed status.

Students are assigned housing by the date they pay the housing deposit.  Once assignments are distributed there is a housing freeze through the third week of the upcoming semester. This means you will be unable to request a move from the room you have been assigned.

Time Line for Fall 2012
•  Instructions for reserved students are mailed beginning February through May as the Admission Office receives your $200 Acceptance Fee.
•  The on-line application is active February 1, 2012 at 8 a.m. through May 18, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.  The student will only gain access to the application after the $200 Acceptance Fee has been paid to Admissions.
•  Assignments are mailed to students in the 3rd week of July.
•  Students move-in the end of August.

Time Line for Spring 2013
•  Instructions for reserved students are mailed mid-September.
•  The on-line application goes live in the beginning of October.
•  Assignments are mailed to students in the 3rd week in January.
•  Students move-in end of January.

On-Campus Housing Waiting List
Students who are given "waiting list" status by the Office of Admissions are placed on the waiting list based on the date Salisbury University received the student's admission deposit.   Current students are placed on the waiting list on the date they complete the waiting list application in the housing office.  There is no commitment by the students to live on campus when they are placed on the waiting list.

We will offer housing to students on the waiting list as soon as space becomes available. We recognize that the earlier the offer, the better for the student and family. If your number-one choice is to live on campus, we ask that you check with the Housing Office before you solidify any off-campus plans. We will inform you of where we are in the process at that time.

To begin to explore housing options, please refer to the off campus housing website. It has a number of different options that will assist you in the process to secure housing. We recommend that you begin the process of looking for off campus housing when you receive your waiting-list status.

Summer and Winter Housing
Students who wish to live on-campus during the summer sessions or winter session need to visit the housing office to complete a room reservation. Students are eligible to live on-campus if they are enrolled in classes or work on-campus. Students who are working on-campus need to bring their work contract with them when they complete the room reservation.
