Doctors of chiropractic treat patients whose
health problems are associated with the body’s
muscular, nervous, and skeletal systems, especially the
spine. They practice a drug free, hands-on
approach to health care.
Preparation for chiropractic medicine requires that, at
a minimum, three years or 90 semester hours of college
credit be completed at an accredited institution
You can choose
any undergraduate major, provided that you include
the required chiropractic prerequisites in your course
of study. (Because these requirements may vary by
school, the individual school websites must be checked.)
You must do well academically in both your major and all
prerequisite courses.

A letter of recommendation from a licensed Doctor of
Chiropractic is required for admission to most
chiropractic programs. In order to gain insight
and knowledge of the profession, and to insure a letter
of recommendation, it is important to begin volunteering
in a chiropractic office as soon as possible.
