 The Henson School of Science and Technology
offers a wide array of degrees:
Biological Science.
In addition to a traditional degree in biology, the Department
of Biological Sciences, in cooperation with the University of
Maryland Eastern Shore, offers a dual degree in biology and
environmental/marine science. Also

Chemistry.
The Chemistry Department provides a broad selection of programs for
students seeking careers in chemistry and biochemistry.
Geography and Geosciences. The Department of Geography and
Geosciences offers programs ranging from mapping sciences to land
use management and regional/urban planning and development.
A Master of Science degree is offered to those
students who are interested in a career in Geographic Information
Systems. The program is a hands-on learning experience in
preparation for entering the exciting profession of
GIS Management. Health Sciences.
The Department of Health Sciences consists of
undergraduate programs in Medical
Laboratory Science and Respiratory Therapy and a graduate program in
Applied Health Physiology. The Department of Health Sciences at
SU has an exciting partnership with the Universities at Shady
Grove and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital
on the Western Shore of Maryland. USG Students are taught
at USG and SU via Live Interactive Video with clinicals being taught
at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital, as well
as other Regional healthcare facilities. Mathematics and
Computer Science. The Department of Mathematics and
Computer Science offers programs in pure and applied mathematics,
including concentrations in computer science and statistics.
Nursing. The
Department of Nursing offers three tracks to a Bachelor of Science
in nursing: one for traditional undergraduate students, a
second for registered nursing students, and a third for
non-nursing college graduates. Students interested in graduate
education can pursue a Master of Science degree as a clinical nurse
specialist, family nurse practitioner, or nursing administrator.
Physics. The Physics Department's general physics or
microelectronics track prepares students for diverse careers in
high-technology fields and graduate studies in physics or electrical
engineering.
