  • ITSecurity.com has a fantastic article on keeping your email secure titled The 25 Most Common Mistakes in Email Security. They break it down into a number of minisections. Properly Managing Your Email Account covers email account management, including suggesting using three email accounts, one for work, one for personal, and one for spam. Next is Emailing the Right People which covers the do's and don'ts of sending and replying to email, including when to use BCC and Reply All. Making Backups and Keeping Records is pretty much like the title says. Avoiding Fraudulent Mail is full of tips to help you recognize and filter which of the emails you have are really spam, and which might be real. Avoiding Malware helps you avoid accidentally installing malicious programs on your computer, including the shocking tip that you really shouldn't trust your friend's email to be safe. Finally, Keeping Hackers at Bay gives you tips on keeping them out the door to begin with, including creating strong passwords and using spam filters.
