Outlook Web Access for Faculty and Staff upgrade changes and known issues

Summary: Saved bookmarks to Outlook Web Mail may no longer work after this upgrade. Faculty and staff may also notice some other changes.


As a result of an upgrade to the Outlook WebAccess server performed on May 23rd, faculty and staff checking email on the web may notice the following changes:

  • The initial logon screen has changed from a blue theme to a yellow theme.
  • Faculty and staff who have created a bookmark directly to the logon screen may find their links are broken after this upgrade. Please change those links to rather than linking directly to the logon page to guarantee that your bookmark will always be valid.
  • On the initial logon screen, Use the light version of Outlook Web App is not checked by default for non-Internet Explorer browsers. Despite this change, users of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and other non-IE browsers will still load the light version of Outlook WebAccess by default.
  • Faculty and staff who check their email using an Android device may need to remove and then re-add their SU email to their mail program in order to receive and send mail on that device.
