Information Technology operates and maintains 10 academic computer labs on
the SU campus. Four of the labs are available for general academic use only; the other six can be reserved
for specific courses or other events. Only the following labs are
available for reservations: Fulton Hall 145, Devilbiss Hall 205, TETC 110A, 110B,
and 116B, and Henson Hall 150. IT encourages faculty and
staff members to become familiar with the hardware and software available in the
computer labs and the computer lab environment prior to making a reservation
request. Additionally, IT encourages faculty and staff members to request lab
reservations as early as possible for a given semester, especially for the fall
and spring semesters.
During the reserved time, a "Class in Session" sign
will be posted outside the lab entrance and the lab will be unavailable for
general use. Weekly lab schedules are available outside each of the computer
labs. Additionally, you may view lab reservations online using the
Astra Scheduler.
How requests are processed:
Lab reservations are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis but with
the following priorities:
*Courses scheduled by the Registrar's office *IT Trainings and Peer Training
*Courses scheduled per request of a faculty member *Reservation requested by
a staff member for SU employees *Reservation requested by a staff member for
an outside group, organization, or group (not scheduled during Fall and Spring
Semesters)
*Note: Courses
scheduled by the University will be scheduled before any other lab requests.
Final schedules for courses are produced at the Registrar's Office. IT is unable
to schedule lab reservations before these course times are final.
If a lab is already reserved when a request comes in, IT will contact the
requestor with alternate times. When a lab reservation is final we will contact the
requestor via email. You can view lab schedules using the
Astra Scheduler.
Requesting a Lab:
Labs must be reserved 7 days in
advance. We process each request manually; it may be several days before your request is filled. When your reservation is scheduled you will receive email confirming
the date, time, and lab location.
To make a lab reservation request, use the Lab Reservation Request Form.
You can check the status of your request using our Online Ticketing System. Questions or comments concerning lab reservation requests can also be directed to the IT Helpdesk, 410 677-5454.
